I figured I should explain what this whole thing is and why I bothered setting it up.</p> <p>salix.host is a Matrix homeserver. If you don&rsquo;t know Matrix, the short version: it&rsquo;s a chat network that nobody owns, kind of like email but for messaging. You pick a server, make an account there, and you can talk to anyone on any other server. No single company in the middle deciding the rules or reading your messages.</p>
